Profile Deloitte Cyprus is among the nation's leading professional services firms,
providing audit & assurance, consulting, financial advisory, wealth
advisory, risk advisory, tax, and related services as well as a complete
range of services to international business. Deloitte is one of the Big Four
companies employing 330.000 professionals in more than 150 countries
and with 59.3$ billion in solid revenue (2022).
Challenge
In an internal survey contacted in 2021, the most requested policy that
employees wanted to be prioritized was changed in the regulatory
framework to facilitate the adoption of more flexible working conditions.
Solution Take a holistic approach allowing their employees to thrive both
personally and professionally, by empowering them to embrace special
recharge moments through flexible working arrangements.
Deloitte offered flexible working arrangements prior to the outburst of
Policy parameters Covid-19. After the pandemic, the company integrates more flexibility into
its arrangements.
Development & Several measures have been developed and systematized within the
oversight company:
● Employees have a free Friday afternoon every Friday.
● A 34-hour working week during three months of summer (July-
September), with an additional afternoon off on Wednesdays is
implemented
● Wellbeing Days Off granted as paid leave for everyone
● Special leaves for special moments – like extra paid new dad leave
to spend with newborns or time off to represent Cyprus in sports
● A suite of flexible working arrangements that meet everyone’s
personal circumstances – ‘HybridWorks’ is the new norm (e.g., a
scheme for working mothers and career breaks)
● When a public holiday falls on a weekend, the Friday before is
granted as a paid Wellbeing Day Off
● Provision of digital devices that enable employees to work
remotely like ergonomic desk chairs, laptops, monitors, cameras,
and headphones
● Work from home – Staff can apply to work from home if their job
duties permit and if they have no meetings or client appointments
● Flexible working hours – Staff can have flexible working hours and
set their own schedule in accordance with their family or personal
